I lived in India and Nepal for many years back in the 1960's and 1970'2. It was a wonderfully challenging experience. My big regret is that I was not able to continue. My co-worker and I worked with the Halbi speaking people in what was then Madhya Pradesh. We lived and studied the language spoken by the Raj Mureas, one of the cultural groups who claimed Halbi as their mother tongue.

The pictures here are scans of photos/slides that my co-worker and I took during the years we were there. Unfortunately, the years have taken their toll on the slides - mold and discolouration were serious problems. I have cleaned up the slides as much as I was able, some turned out nicely others didn't.
