God the builder

Fran Woods

Psalm 127

Verse 1: “Unless the lord builds a house, the work of the builders is useless. Unless the lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.”

Unless the Lord is in it the effort is useless.

If I build a kingdom for myself it is useless.

If I make myself indispensable it is useless.

If I work hard to prove how good I am it is useless.

If I build my own reputation it is useless.

If I do want I want and forget everyone else it is useless.

No matter what I myself do or seek to achieve it is useless.

The only thing that is useful is what God directs, what God desires, what God says, what God wants.

If He builds my reputation it is good.

If He gives me wisdom and honour it is good.

If He gives me wealth it is good.

If He builds a work for me it is good.

If He protects me I am in no danger.

Thank you, God! Help me let you build my life to what you want it to be.
