Prayer

This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it -- the Lord is his Name: 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'

Jeremiah 33:2, 3

Over the years that I've been a Christian there've been many books that have encouraged and challenged me in my prayer life. Initially, I thought of prayer as a duty where I told God about what I understood needed to be changed in the world. It wasn't all that personal. Nor did I find it very satisfying. More recently I've discovered that prayer is two-way communication, very personal and like best friends talking together. God is my best friend. God communicates with me and I communicate with him.

In this section are some of the books that have helped me in my prayer journey. I hope they will be a blessing to you as well.

Can You Hear Me: Tuning in to the God Who Speaks Can You Hear Me: Tuning in to the God Who Speaks by Brad Jersak. This is a great book, a very practical approach to prayer especially for those learning to listen for the voice of God, and then to know that it's God who's speaking. I highly recommend it. Pathway to the Heart of God Pathway to the Heart of God by Terry W. Glaspey.
